Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates the tool. Norman County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy controls its handling of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or other contact message, we retain the message and contact details as needed to reply. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine logs and analytics may record technical information when a page loads. This can include:
- The connecting IP address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- Date and time stamps for the visit.
Cookie Use
Cookies help show how visitors move through the site and which features work. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies. Blocking them may cause some tools or settings to behave differently.
Reasons We Use Data
Collected data may be used to:
- Keep pages available and responsive.
- Send a search request to the selected provider.
- Understand which resources are useful.
- Detect and correct technical faults.
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.
Privacy Beyond This Website
Links may lead to Norman County records pages, sheriff and corrections systems, government portals, or independent search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy terms apply. Review them before submitting personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technologies to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs within their systems, not records kept directly by Norman County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still pass to a service that has a defined role in operating the site:
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads.
- Law enforcement or a government body acting under a valid legal order.
Safeguards and Their Limits
Reasonable and customary security measures are used to protect information. No internet-connected service can promise complete protection, however. We do not guarantee that every system is breach-proof.
People Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us so a deletion request can be reviewed.
Your Information Choices
Subject to applicable law and the data actually held, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal data we hold.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Erase personal data that no longer must be retained.
- Opt out of certain forms of processing.
These choices apply to information controlled by this site. A sheriff, court, corrections agency, or search provider handles its own records under its own process.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A new version will be posted on this page with its updated effective date.
